As a pale white girl, who made the huge decision to move 220kms away from the beach near 6 years ago now, my skin has never been so white. Now, I was never super tanned and at the start of the summer I did tend to blend in with the sand (which is the whitest sand in the world mind you). I did get a little colour in my skin by the end of the summer. Over the last 6 years in Canberra, I have learned to love fake tanning. Just something about being dark makes me feel so great about myself. Tan just gives me that little boost of confidence, I mean it does fix everything, right?
I was lucky enough to be sent the new Le Tan Uber Dark Tanning Foam by Beauty Heaven before it was released to the public. I have been using this tan for about 6 weeks now, and let me tell you it was so hard to keep a secret! Every time someone asked me what tan I used my response was ‘Check my blog in a few weeks and you will find out.’
Well, here you are… and here it is…
Le Tan has developed 4 new shades in their new Uber Dark range, they have one for every skin type:
Marula Oil for dry skin to give you extra hydration and longevity.
Ash Base for naturally fair skin.
Violet Base for Olive skin tones and those that tan easily in the sun.
And Green Base as an All Rounder, suitable for all skin tones.
I tried the Marula oil Tan because I have dry/ dehydrated skin.
What they say:
“This game changing formulation has been created with highly concentrated tanning actives to for your darkest tan yet. Salon quality, Uber Dark is fragrance-free, with added cutting-edge odour neutralisers to ensure no fake-tan smell. Added moisturising ingredients ensures an intensely hydrated, streak-free and long-lasting result.”
I applied this tan with the Le Tan Mitt, and it was actually really easy to apply. It blended out perfectly with the mitt, and I was surprised that it did not streak at all.
Results and Longevity:
I washed the tan off after sleeping in it for 8 hours, and I was definitely surprised with the result. I expected a lot of the product to wash off however the colour remained quite nicely without being too intense. It continued to develop over the next 24 hours although only slightly. Although they advertise the product as having “odour neutralisers to ensure no fake tan smell” there was DEFINITELY fake tan smell!!!! Not as intense as usual but still there.
I have used this a few times now, and each time my tan has lasted for over 5 days before I had to scrub it off. It started to fade evenly after about 5 days, then after about another 2 days it went a little patchy in the drier areas (elbows, knees etc.)
I found the longevity a lot better than most other tans I use. I tend to scrub them off after 3 days when they become patchy.
Overall, I am definitely pleased with this product and I have continued to use it over and over. It applies and fades evenly, the colour isn’t too dark for the pale skin babes and for the price it is 100% worth trying! At $24.99AUD per bottle. I have used mine over 5 times and still have more than half a bottle left. A little definitely goes a long way!
It’s a product that I will be repurchasing.
Have you tried this tan? Or have you tried any others in the range? I would love to hear your thoughts. Be sure to leave a comment.
