While the bathroom is a small room to pack when you are moving home, it’s also very important. Here are 3 tips to help you get your bathroom packed as efficiently as possible.
1) Pack an overnight bag of essentials.
Before you pack the rest of the bathroom separate out a night’s worth of bathroom essentials separately. This should include your toothbrush, a towel and any other products (such as a roll of toilet paper) that you will use in the first day you are in the new house. Additionally, don’t forget your make-up and beauty products. Moving can be stressful, so why not look you best throughout this period! This will be the last thing you pack and should go at the top of the box, so that you don’t have to unpack the whole bathroom packing box in order to have a shower after a long day of moving.
2) Use zip lock bags to keep fluids and aerosols separately
Even if you carefully wrap and keep fluids packed upright it can be easy for containers to get knocked or jostled as they move. By keeping them separate you can help to minimise the chance of a leaking shampoo bottle or toothpaste tube spreading throughout the whole box and dirtying up all your towels. It can also be a good idea to pack any delicate glass containers wrapped in towels, to stop them rubbing against each other in transit.
3) Use towels to keep the boxes light
Many of the items in a bathroom can be quite heavy, including full bottles of shower gels and hair styling tools. Pack the bottom of the box with towels and place heavier items in between, before topping the box with towels. This makes the box sturdier and will keep your items safe while moving. Shower curtains can also be useful to double wrap any fluids and even further protect towels from potential spills.
If you are moving house and looking to make your packing as easy and stress-free as possible it is a great idea to hire professional removalists. They will take care of packing your boxes and furniture when moving, as well as being able to provide you with professional grade moving supplies and equipment.

As a pale white girl, who made the huge decision to move 220kms away from the beach near 6 years ago now, my skin has never been so white. Now, I was never super tanned and at the start of the summer I did tend to blend in with the sand (which is the whitest sand in the world mind you). I did get a little colour in my skin by the end of the summer. Over the last 6 years in Canberra, I have learned Continue reading “Le Tan Uber Dark with Marula Oil”
